Grocery Stores & Delivery Near Disney World (Stock Your Rental)
Save Money One of the smartest moves you can make before your first park day is a grocery run. We host homes near the Walt Disney World gates and watch guests discover this the hard way: a $5 bottle of water, a $20 in-park breakfast, a $12 bag of chips — it adds up fast across a week. The grocery stores near Disney World are close, stocked, and far cheaper than anything sold inside the gates. Here’s exactly where to go and how to get your rental stocked before you even unpack.
Quick answer
Publix is your first stop. There are several locations along the US-192 (Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway) corridor and near Osceola Parkway — most are within 10–15 minutes of the Disney gates. Walmart Supercenter is the bulk-buy option, and Target on 192 handles a solid middle ground. If you’d rather skip the trip entirely, Garden Grocer and Instacart both deliver directly to vacation homes and Disney resorts. A single grocery run at the start of your trip can trim hundreds off a family’s food bill.
Grocery stores within striking distance
Publix — the Florida staple
Publix is Florida’s hometown grocery chain and the closest full-service option to the parks for most Kissimmee vacation-home guests. Multiple Publix stores sit along the US-192 corridor and Osceola Parkway; check the Publix store finder to confirm the nearest location to your specific rental. Stores are typically open early through late evening (confirm current hours at publix.com), and the BOGO deals — Florida Publix is famous for them — are worth scanning before you shop. Pick up Publix-brand sunscreen here too: the same SPF for a fraction of the park price.
Publix deli is legitimately good for quick lunches. A sub sandwich from the deli counter and a bag of chips is a cheap, packable park lunch that won’t melt in a drawstring bag.
Walmart Supercenter — for bulk and basics
When you need a lot of everything at once, a Walmart Supercenter near the US-192 / Vineland Road area is the move. Walmart’s prices on water cases, breakfast items, kid snacks, and sunscreen consistently beat every other option within park distance. Several locations in the Kissimmee/Buena Vista area are open 24 hours — useful if you’re arriving late at night and want the fridge stocked before day one. Use the Walmart app to confirm hours and stock availability at the nearest store.
Walmart also sells the exact same Disney-branded merchandise (ponchos, autograph books, glow accessories) you’d pay double for in the parks. Buy here instead.
Target — the practical middle ground
A Target SuperTarget on US-192 sits in easy reach of the western Kissimmee communities. It’s a reliable one-stop for groceries, toiletries, baby supplies, and reasonably priced snacks without Walmart’s warehouse feel. Target Circle members get additional discounts on grocery items, and Shipt (Target’s delivery arm) can bring an order to your rental if you’d rather not make the detour.
Aldi — for budget-first shoppers
Aldi stores have expanded across the Kissimmee/Orlando area and offer significantly lower prices on pantry staples and produce than the major chains. Trade-offs: smaller selection, bring your own bags, bring quarters for the cart. But for a week’s worth of cereal, eggs, cheese, fruit, and snacks, Aldi is hard to beat on price. Search the Aldi store locator for the nearest location to your rental.
Delivery services for vacation rentals
Not every family wants to sacrifice a half-day of vacation to a grocery run. These services ship directly to your vacation home — or your Disney resort room.
Garden Grocer — the Disney-area specialist
Garden Grocer (gardengrocer.com) is the most established grocery delivery service for the Disney World area. They’ve been serving vacation rentals and Disney resort guests for years and understand the logistics: pre-arrival delivery, cooler bags for cold items, and a wide selection including fresh produce, baby gear, snacks, and beverages. Delivery fees and order minimums apply; check the site for current pricing and to place your order before your trip. This is the easiest option for arriving guests who want the fridge stocked the moment they walk in.
WeGoShop — local personal shoppers
WeGoShop (wegoshop.com) sends local personal shoppers to buy your list and deliver it to your door. You specify the store, they handle the picking, and they communicate with you if an item is out of stock. Good if you want a specific brand or a more customized haul than a standard delivery service allows.
Instacart — same-day from Publix, Walmart, or Target
If you’re already at your rental and realize you need a few things, Instacart delivers from Publix, Walmart, Target, and Aldi stores in the Kissimmee area — usually within an hour or two. Tipping is expected and delivery fees vary; the Instacart+ membership pays off if you’ll use it across the week. It won’t pre-stock your rental before arrival the way Garden Grocer will, but it’s the most flexible same-day option.
What to actually stock in your rental
We’ve stocked a lot of vacation rentals. Here’s the practical list that earns its shelf space:
Breakfast (eat before the parks):
- Cereal or oatmeal and milk
- Eggs and toast if you have time to cook
- Fruit — Florida strawberries and oranges are excellent
- Coffee and creamer
Pack-in snacks (Disney allows reusable bags with snacks and sealed drinks):
- Granola bars, trail mix, crackers
- Single-serve nut butter pouches
- Fruit pouches or baby food for toddlers
- Refillable water bottles — fill at your rental, refill in-park for free
Dinner supplies for tired return days:
- Pasta, jarred sauce, or a rotisserie chicken from the deli
- Sandwich ingredients
- Frozen pizzas for the inevitable “we’re too tired to go out” night
Extras that save money in-park:
- Sunscreen (bring enough — buy extra)
- Ponchos ($1–$2 at Walmart vs. $12+ in the parks)
- Children’s pain reliever and any prescription medication
- Reusable ziplock bags for packing snacks daily
Tips to make the grocery run painless
Go the day you arrive, not the morning of day one. Your first park day is not the day to negotiate a Florida Walmart parking lot. Build the grocery stop into your arrival timeline.
US-192 traffic stacks at dinner time. If you’re shopping late afternoon, expect extra minutes on the 192 corridor. Weekends are busier than weekdays.
Use store pickup (BOPIS) to skip the store entirely. Both Walmart and Target allow you to order online and pick up curbside — useful if you’ve already built your list from home and want a fast stop on the drive in from the airport.
Keep a cooler in the car. Florida heat is unforgiving. If you’re heading straight to the parks after your grocery run, a small soft cooler bag and a bag of ice keep the cold items safe for a few hours.
FAQ
Can you bring grocery items into Disney parks? Yes. Disney allows guests to bring in their own food and sealed non-alcoholic beverages (no glass containers, no loose ice, no hard-sided coolers above the posted size limit). A soft insulated bag with snacks and water bottles is allowed and normal. Confirm current rules at Disney’s official site before your trip, since policies can change.
Do grocery delivery services deliver to Disney resort rooms? Yes — Garden Grocer and other services deliver to Disney resort hotels and vacation club properties. Disney has bell services that will hold refrigerated items. If you’re staying on property, confirm the delivery process with your resort before the order ships.
Is there a grocery store inside Disney Springs? Not a full-service grocery store. The Goofy’s Candy Co. and a handful of food vendors are in Disney Springs, but they aren’t a practical grocery option. Use the off-property stores above — Disney Springs is a short drive from most of them.
